Four sales technology vendors made moves this quarter that point in the same direction: stop building AI as an add-on module and start building it into the software reps already have open. Fireflies, Clari and Salesloft, and Outreach each shipped or repositioned around that idea between April and July 2026, and Gong's latest growth numbers show customers are already voting for it with their budgets.
Fireflies moves from meeting notes to the deal record
Fireflies, known for AI meeting transcription, launched an AI Sales Suite on July 21, 2026 (Fireflies, 2026, vendor release). The suite pulls context from meetings, email and CRM records into a single deal view. Its Deal Intelligence feature is meant to flag at-risk deals before a pipeline review, and CRM Autofill drafts contact and opportunity updates for sync into Salesforce or HubSpot. A Sales Assist mode gives live prompts, pricing reference and objection-handling suggestions during a call, and AI Scorecards grade conversations against MEDDIC, BANT or SPICED frameworks. Deal Intelligence ships on the Business and Enterprise plans.
Fireflies says the suite was live with more than 22,000 sales teams at launch, out of a claimed 20 million overall users. Those figures come from the company's own release and have not been independently verified. Treat them as directional.
Clari and Salesloft push conversation data into execution
On July 14, 2026, the merged Clari and Salesloft entity launched Salesloft Conversation Intelligence (Clari, 2026, vendor release). The feature embeds call recordings, AI coaching and forecast context into the same execution surface reps use to run sequences, instead of routing that data to a separate coaching dashboard. The company frames the move as closing a specific gap: buyer signals generated in one system that never reach the tools sellers actually work in. It cites its own research that 87 percent of businesses missed their 2025 revenue goals as the problem this addresses. That is a vendor-sourced figure that should be read as Clari's framing rather than an independently audited statistic.
The release builds on a Model Context Protocol server the merged company introduced earlier this year, which opens live revenue data to outside AI tools rather than keeping it locked inside Clari and Salesloft's own products.
Outreach bets its brand on the same shift
Outreach launched Omni in April 2026 and repositioned itself around agentic AI rather than sales engagement as a category (Outreach, 2026, vendor release, April 27). The company says G2 review volume for its products rose roughly 17-fold in the months after the pivot, with a 4.3 out of 5 rating across more than 3,400 reviews on G2 at last count. Review volume and star ratings are a real, third-party-hosted signal. The interpretation that the surge reflects the rebrand specifically, rather than ordinary growth, is the vendor's claim, not G2's.
Gong's numbers suggest the market agrees
Gong reported on May 12, 2026 that annual recurring revenue passed 500 million dollars, up more than 55 percent year over year for a tenth straight quarter of accelerating growth (Gong, 2026, vendor release). The company attributes part of that growth to customers consolidating a fragmented sales tech stack onto one platform instead of running point solutions for engagement, forecasting and coaching separately. That is a self-reported figure with no independent audit behind it, but it is directionally consistent with what Fireflies, Clari and Salesloft, and Outreach are all now building toward.
What to watch
Salesforce has scheduled its next major Agentforce Sales release for September 2026, which will show whether the largest CRM vendor is chasing the same consolidation trend or defending its existing modular pricing. Whether reps actually spend less time on CRM data entry as a result of these launches, rather than more time reviewing AI-generated suggestions, will not be visible until vendors publish usage data beyond launch-week press releases.
