01Health, a London healthtech company, has raised a $15 million (£11.2 million) Series A to turn a platform it built for its own dental businesses into licensed infrastructure for independent clinics and practice groups.
The round was led by Gresham House Ventures, with follow-on participation from existing investors Balderton Capital, Eka Ventures and Wavemaker360, alongside angel investors including Blockchain.com co-founder Nicolas Cary. The company said the raise brings its total capital to $25 million. What the platform does
01Health was founded in 2022 by Dr. Sonia Szamocki, a former NHS doctor and BCG consultant. The company built the platform first for internal use, running two of its own specialist dental businesses: 32Co, a clear-aligner orthodontics brand, and Aerox Health, which the company describes as an end-to-end dental sleep medicine service.
The software covers patient acquisition, appointment scheduling, clinical protocols, specialist oversight, treatment workflows, procurement and day-to-day operations for a clinic delivering specialist care outside a hospital setting. Until this raise, that platform was not available to anyone outside 01Health's own brands. The Series A funds a shift to licensing it to independent practices, practice groups and dental service organizations.
"The biggest bottleneck in healthcare isn't cost, it's access," Szamocki said in a statement announcing the round. "32Co and Aerox have already brought expert dental treatments to areas of the UK where such treatments were inaccessible, proving the concept that specialist care could be democratized if the right technology layer existed underneath it. Now this technology layer goes live as 01Health, the first of a kind end-to-end platform built to enable clinics and clinicians to launch and scale specialist treatments."
Who is affected
The immediate customer is a UK or US clinic or practice group that wants to add specialist services, starting with dental specialties, without building scheduling, clinical-protocol and specialist-oversight infrastructure in house. 01Health said the platform is now available under license to practices that are not part of its own brand portfolio, which is the material change this raise funds; the underlying software itself is not new.
The company said trials of a US version of the platform are already underway and that it has appointed a head of US commercial operations to lead expansion there. No launch date, customer count or pricing for the licensed product outside the UK has been disclosed.
What to watch
01Health has not published data on clinic adoption, revenue or clinical outcomes tied to the licensed platform, since it has only just opened the product to outside customers. The company's own figures on 32Co's UK dental coverage describe its existing brand footprint, not results from the newly licensed offering, and should be read as such.
The near-term signal to watch is whether 01Health lands a licensing customer outside its own dental brands, and whether the US trials convert into a formal launch. Both would confirm the platform works as general-purpose clinic infrastructure rather than as a tool built for one company's own two brands.
